New Horizon is one of the last solid timber vessels built with the famous Tasmanian Hard Wood, which makes her a strong and seaworthy boat. The interior and exterior of the vessel boasts some beautiful personal touches like the human sized figurehead.

Day One
The majestic New Horizon leaves Abell Point Marina at approximately 2:30pm and after an orientation briefing the sails are hoisted and look spectacular as you cruise across Whitsunday Passage past the Molle group of the Whitsunday Islands along the southern end of Hook Island to Nara Inlet. This is a beautiful sheltered bay for a very protected, calm and stable night sleep. Once at the overnight anchorage there is plenty of time to enjoy a swim in the warm, sun-drenched tropical ocean. As the day moves through to night it is time to enjoy a beautiful steamed fish supper and relax with a few evening drinks on the wooden decks. The evening consists of relaxation, chat, games and on many trips Dolphins come to hunt and play under the New Horizon’s fish spotlight. It’s a very rare opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the most intelligent and beautiful creatures in the world. There is also other marine life that’s attracted to this fish light such as giant travelly, and other pelagic fish as well as white and black tip reef sharks. All this is enjoyed under the stars.
Day Two
The boat makes its way to Whitehaven Beach at 6am and New Horizon guests are woken up at 6.30am. Passengers are greeted with a full continental breakfast including a delicious fresh fruit platter. The New Horizon arrives to Whitehaven Beach just before 8am and an experienced tour guide takes the passengers to a lookout which is the 4th most photographed place in Australia and overlooks the pristine beauty of Hill Inlet on Whitehaven Beach. The guide then takes the excited guests to north Whitehaven Beach and everyone can explore the white, soft, fine, silica sand first hand as well as soak up the sun or play beach games. The New Horizon also has a photographer who captures all those special memories and moments. The guests return to the vessel at 11am and after a relaxing sail and some lunch arrive to our snorkel and dive destination. The New Horizon has a superbly equipped dive operation and even has its own dive compressor, meaning tanks can be refilled and therefore diving is not restricted to how many full tanks there are on board. Whether it be snorkelling or scuba diving, this underwater world lights up before your eyes. Exploring the fringing reefs of the Whitsunday Islands is obviously a huge highlight for most guests, not only in the trip but as a truly memorable life experience.  After snorkelling and diving it’s time for more fun on the dive board and paddle boards. If time allows you will cruise further around the north of Hook Island and enjoy another snorkel at Maureen’s Cove or Butterfly Bay. After a busy day of activities, a shower and freshen up is in order while the chef prepares afternoon snacks and a warm beverage. The experienced crew once again hoist the sails to provide a picturesque sunset sail to the overnight anchorage. If time allows the crew will try to watch the sunset on a beautiful sandy spit off an island called Langford, which is nothing short of stunning! The day is capped off with an interactive, light hearted, and informative chart read, which tells all the guests about where they have been, what they have done as well as interesting facts about the forna and flora and underwater life. After dinner the guests can enjoy a few beers and reflect on their day in paradise.
Day Three
The final day begins at 6.30am. The chef prepares breakfast as the guests enjoy the breath taking Whitsundays sunrise, then it’s time to explore the reef one more time scuba diving and snorkelling, which gets underway at approximately 7:30am. This final location offers a discounted dive for second or third time divers and as well as being cheaper, it’s also a deeper, longer, and more challenging dive. After this final goodbye to the coral reef there is plenty of time for more jumping off the dive platform and cruising around on the paddle boards. The anchor is raised at approximately 10am and then back to Airlie Beach for arrival at 12:00pm. The Whitsunday passage is a great open stretch of water to enjoy the eye-catching beauty of New Horizon’s sails. That’s the end of the trip, but it’s not the end of the service we offer because in partnership with local businesses we also offer a free didgeridoo and indigenous culture lesson at ‘Opals’ in Airlie Beach. We also have an after party organised where our guests get fed and watered for $5. This rounds off the trip and sends off our passengers with a smile to their next destination.

Terms and Conditions

“supplier” means any tour operator or other supplier of the services “you” means the guest booking and person named on this reservation booking “we”, “our” means The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre and  A.J.LAURENT PTY LTD These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made through The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre. Placing a booking with The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre and paying a deposit constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Booking Conditions

For bookings made more than 30 days prior to travel, a 25% deposit is due to secure your booking with the balance due 30 days prior to travel. For bookings made within 30 days of travel, the full payment is due immediately to secure your booking. If we do not receive your full payment within 30 days of your travel date and you do not contact us to cancel, your deposit is forfeited and your booking may be automatically cancelled by us, the supplier or both.


Prices are quoted in Australian dollars, inclusive of GST, and all payments must be made in Australian dollars. Your reservation will only be confirmed when funds have been received and are cleared. The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre is not responsible for delays in postal delivery, bank or payment system processing. It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are received within the times specified. If the deposit or final payment is not received by the due date, The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre has the right cancel the booking. If your final payment is not paid by the due date and in any event within 30 days of your departure, we have the right to cancel your booking and retain the deposit in full without any reimbursement to cover our costs and those of any supplier.

Cancellations and Amendments to Bookings

If you wish to cancel or amend any booking made you need to contact us in writing. You can only cancel or amend a confirmed booking by contacting us directly. If you do not contact us to cancel prior to your booking departure date, you may forfeit your deposit and further costs.

Cancellation Charges and Amendment Fees

Any cancellation or amendment made more than 30 days before travel will incur an administration fee of 25% of the total booking fee.  All cancellations or amendments made within 30 days of your travel date departure will incur both an administration fee of 25% in addition to the individual supplier’s fees. Any changes requested to your booking, including but not limited to dates, are subject to availability and if they are not available, you may be required to cancel and agree to the cancellation terms. IMPORTANT NOTE: Some services and activities may not permit any refund for certain bookings. You should check with the individual supplier or The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre prior to paying for your booking to confirm any special non-refundable conditions.

Travel Insurance

We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover your reservation, and valuable items (e.g. cameras). Your travel insurance policy should include coverage to protect against unforeseen and last-minute cancellations or medical conditions that may prevent travel and also to cover any medical emergencies during travel at minimum.

Supplier Tours and Services Changes

In the unlikely case of a vessel break down, maintenance or unavailability, the supplier will supply an alternate vessel of a similar standard and quality. Itineraries may be affected by elements beyond our and the supplier’s control such as wind, tide, rain, storm or other weather conditions which make travel dangerous and require a delay or cancellation. It is the skipper's requirement to ensure passenger safety at all times and may use his/her professional judgment in any manner to keep his/her guests and crew safe. In the instance of such delay or cancellation, alternative options will be provided by the supplier. In the event a cancellation or delay occurs and your tour or service is cancelled and rescheduled, you will receive a full refund if you are unable to rebook your tour or service.


You are using these services and taking any tours at your own risk. We are not responsible for any loss or damage, including direct, indirect or consequential loss you may suffer as a result of your reservation, booking or anything related to your tour or services provided by any supplier.  You need to ensure you are medically sound, fit and physically able to use the services. We are not liable for the event that you are refused access to any services or tours due to your medical, physical or other reasons, including intoxication. Any such claims should be addressed to the suppliers directly. You should note that sailing can be a dangerous activity and while crews will make every effort to ensure your safety, they cannot be accountable for actions or injury to you that may be ‘beyond their control’. Every effort is make to ensure your safety and you may be required to complete a pre departure questionnaire, and sign a travel agreement waiver during the check-in process of your tour with the supplier directly. We are not affiliated with nor responsible for our suppliers in any way other than as intermediary to arrange their services on you and their behalf. If you have any issues, injury, suffer any loss or damage, you need to take it up with the supplier directly. If we are obligated to cancel your travel arrangements for any reason, the liability of will be limited to a refund of all monies paid by you.

New Horizon Terms and Conditions

New Horizon reserves the right to change routes or vessels at any time without notice. All itineraries, activities and departures are subject to weather and may be changed or cancelled at the discretion of Atlantic Clipper. It should be noted that adventure sailing includes risks. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard clients, we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to actions beyond our control. We recommend that all clients have travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings. Cancellations from 30 to 60 days of departure will result in loss of 25% of ticket price; 29 to 14 days before departure loss of 50% of ticket price, 14 days to 72 hours before departure 100% charges apply. Transfer fees apply. Minimum 72 hours for a change of date. Passengers are encouraged to check in the day prior to departure 11:30am-5pm or the morning of departure before 11am at ABC Travel.
