Explore the Whitsundays sailing on board the famous Southern Cross Day Whitsundays Sail tour. You will visit the Hill Inlet Lookout, Whitehaven Beach and snorkel an island reef stop. Guests can help to sail if they want to get involved.Today, while Southern Cross still holds the spirit of a racing yacht, considerable modifications have been made to make it comfortable for guests, with features such as a shaded cockpit and downstairs lounge area and guest bathroom.
Meet at Abell Point Marina South End at 7:45am to get ready to set sailing across the Whitsunday Passage sailing by Hook Island through Hook Passage. Arrive at Tongue Bay, around for a guided walk to the lookout over Whitehaven Beach. Follow the path along a board walk down to the Beach for time to explore the and enjoy the pure white sands.
In the afternoon, it is time to head back to the yacht for lunch, after lunch motor over to Dumbell Island, just a short trip away. This allows time for a snorkel and swim on the amazing coral reefs.
Back on board, and it’s time to set sail and cross the passage heading back to Airlie Beach. Arrive in the marina approximately 5:15 to 5:30pm.
Please note: the Itinerary will vary, based on the weather and tides and professional judgement of the Captain. Dependent on weather and tidal conditions the tour may not visit the Hill Inlet, however there is a terrific alternate weather option itinerary available.

Your day starts nice and early with a pick up transfer from your Airlie Beach accommodation to Abell Point Marina.
Sail the Whitsundays to Tongue Bay on Whitsunday Island
Depart Abell Point Marina at 8AM and enjoy morning tea as your friendly crew offer their wealth of knowledge of the surrounding Whitsunday Islands, before you know it you have arrived at your destination.
Hill Inlet Swirling Sands Lookout
Jump onboard the tender and you will be transfered to the beach where your guided bushwalk commences to the breath taking views of the swirling sands and Whiteahven Beach at the Hill Inlet Lookout. Your crew will be moe han happy o take a picture of you with this stunning backdrop.
Explore Whitehaven Beach
From the Lookout you will then have time to explore the swirling sands at the northern end of Whitehaven Beach.
Set Sail to your Snorkelling Location
Back onboard your Southern Cross Sailing yacht your delicious lunch is served whilst enroute to your snorkel desitnation for the day. Your snorkelling equipment and stinger suit will be provided along with a snorkel breifing and instruction of the snorkel location. You will swim among many of the Whitsundays tropical marine like and coral gardens - you may even see a turtle or dolphin.
Sailing across the Whitsunday Passage
By 3:30pm your sailing cruise will set sail across the Whitsunday Passage back to the mainland - Airlie Beach. Your friendly guides will offer a fresh fruit and cheese platter to enjoy during your return journey. You are more than welcome to hoist the sails or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the amosphere.
Return to Airlie Beach
Your Southern Cross Day Sail will return to Abell Point Marina aproximately between 5-5:30 PM where your courtesy coach transfer awaits. You will then be transfered back to your accommodation.

Terms and Conditions
“supplier” means any tour operator or other supplier of the services
“you” means the guest booking and person named on this reservation booking
“we”, “our” means The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre and A.J.LAURENT PTY LTD
These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made through The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre. Placing a booking with The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre and paying a deposit constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions.
For bookings made more than 30 days prior to travel, a 25% deposit is due to secure your booking with the balance due 30 days prior to travel. For bookings made within 30 days of travel, the full payment is due immediately to secure your booking. If we do not receive your full payment within 30 days of your travel date and you do not contact us to cancel, your deposit is forfeited and your booking may be automatically cancelled by us, the supplier or both.
Prices are quoted in Australian dollars, inclusive of GST, and all payments must be made in Australian dollars. Your reservation will only be confirmed when funds have been received and are cleared. The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre is not responsible for delays in postal delivery, bank or payment system processing. It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are received within the times specified. If the deposit or final payment is not received by the due date, The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre has the right cancel the booking. If your final payment is not paid by the due date and in any event within 30 days of your departure, we have the right to cancel your booking and retain the deposit in full without any reimbursement to cover our costs and those of any supplier.
Cancellations and Amendments to Bookings
If you wish to cancel or amend any booking made you need to contact us in writing. You can only cancel or amend a confirmed booking by contacting us directly. If you do not contact us to cancel prior to your booking departure date, you may forfeit your deposit and further costs.
Cancellation Charges and Amendment Fees
Any cancellation or amendment made more than 30 days before travel will incur an administration fee of 25% of the total booking fee. All cancellations or amendments made within 30 days of your travel date departure will incur both an administration fee of 25% in addition to the individual supplier’s fees.
Any changes requested to your booking, including but not limited to dates, are subject to availability and if they are not available, you may be required to cancel and agree to the cancellation terms.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Some services and activities may not permit any refund for certain bookings. You should check with the individual supplier or The Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre prior to paying for your booking to confirm any special non-refundable conditions.
We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover your reservation, and valuable items (e.g. cameras). Your travel insurance policy should include coverage to protect against unforeseen and last-minute cancellations or medical conditions that may prevent travel and also to cover any medical emergencies during travel at minimum.
Supplier Tours and Services Changes
In the unlikely case of a vessel break down, maintenance or unavailability, the supplier will supply an alternate vessel of a similar standard and quality. Itineraries may be affected by elements beyond our and the supplier’s control such as wind, tide, rain, storm or other weather conditions which make travel dangerous and require a delay or cancellation. It is the skipper's requirement to ensure passenger safety at all times and may use his/her professional judgment in any manner to keep his/her guests and crew safe. In the instance of such delay or cancellation, alternative options will be provided by the supplier. In the event a cancellation or delay occurs and your tour or service is cancelled and rescheduled, you will receive a full refund if you are unable to rebook your tour or service.
You are using these services and taking any tours at your own risk. We are not responsible for any loss or damage, including direct, indirect or consequential loss you may suffer as a result of your reservation, booking or anything related to your tour or services provided by any supplier. You need to ensure you are medically sound, fit and physically able to use the services. We are not liable for the event that you are refused access to any services or tours due to your medical, physical or other reasons, including intoxication. Any such claims should be addressed to the suppliers directly.
You should note that sailing can be a dangerous activity and while crews will make every effort to ensure your safety, they cannot be accountable for actions or injury to you that may be ‘beyond their control’. Every effort is make to ensure your safety and you may be required to complete a pre departure questionnaire, and sign a travel agreement waiver during the check-in process of your tour with the supplier directly. We are not affiliated with nor responsible for our suppliers in any way other than as intermediary to arrange their services on you and their behalf. If you have any issues, injury, suffer any loss or damage, you need to take it up with the supplier directly.

We recommend all guests have travel insurance to protect against cancellations
Cancellations from 30 to 60 days of departure will result in loss of 25% of ticket price. 14 to 30 Days before departure, loss of 50% of ticket price. 14 days to departure will result in forfeit of full trip fees.
Where full payment has been made, and we can re-sell the space on the departure, we will refund ticket price less 20% (not including commissions or bank fees).
The Operator cannot guarantee refund of the travel agent deposit component.
Postponement/Transfer of a trip by an individual, will be allowed 14 days prior to departure, so long as we have capacity on the alternative date. An Admin Fee ($40) may be applied to postponements or transfers. Postponements under 14 days before departure will be given due consideration based on the merit of the circumstances causing the postponement, such as a medical emergency. In all cases the best advice for a customer is to hold applicable travel insurance and the final discretion remains with the Operator of the tour.
Please advise guests that the sooner they speak to us in regard to possible delays the easier it is to find suitable options for our guests.
The Operator strongly recommends that all guests have travel insurance to:
Cover valuable items, e.g. cameras and luggage.
To protect against unforeseen cancellations or late arrival into Airlie Beach for any reason (includes road closures, flight cancellations) which subsequently leads to missing the scheduled departure time.
Cover medical conditions that may occur during carriage, and the associated extra costs of accessing medical care around the islands, including emergency air evacuation.
Cover against an emergency where you need to return home urgently, e.g.. a family member becomes very ill.
For peace of mind guests should understand the fine details of the cover included for the Travel Insurance to ensure that it covers the above.
Ticket prices are in $AUD. Prices include all Marine and National Park Fees, Services of Crew, Meals, Snorkelling Equipment. Payments with Credit Card will incur a 2% fee.
Guests should note that Sailing can be a dangerous activity and while our crew will make every effort to ensure guest safety, we cannot be accountable for actions of guests that are beyond our control. Guests will be required to complete a pre-departure questionnaire, and sign a travel agreement during the check-in process. The Operator has the applicable Shipowners insurance to cover public liability for our guests and staff. A Copy of the certificate will be forwarded if required. Marine stingers can inhabit the waters, so we provide wet suits to minimise the risk of a sting. We request that all guests wear the wet suit before entering the water.
The Operator has the right to refuse boarding of guests who arrive intoxicated or who are under the influence of illegal substances. While on tour, guests must abide by instructions from the Crew. Guests must also abide by the law and public nuisance, harassment, or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Guests who refuse to follow instructions and jeopardise the safety and security of Crew, guests, themselves or the vessel may be restrained and / or removed from the tour. All associated costs of removal will be borne by the guest and no refund of ticket monies will be provided.
English Language Comprehension
Because many of the tours we offer are low guest numbers with sometimes only 2 crew, it is very important that the guests have basic English understanding. Guests will spend time snorkelling and swimming and it is critical for their safety that they follow the instructions from the crew, while they are participating in the activities. If customers cannot understand English, it is important that a companion travelling can speak English and translate for the non-English speaking guest. We do have snorkelling summaries in other languages, which are provided for guests to read. If guests have any concerns at all, please contact us.
Itineraries and Weather
The Operator reserves the right to alter the tour or the itinerary of any of it's tours and organise alternative carriers to those advertised if necessary. The Operator will always consider the comfort and safety of guests and staff and as a result, some of the Whitsunday Icons may not be visited if the wind, visibility or tidal conditions are not suitable. If it is raining, our tours still operate, as the guests can still experience the Whitsundays, including swimming and bush walking. If the winds are light, the tours will still run, however, it will be necessary to use the motors on the boats to get to the stops around the islands. We do not provide any guarantee that the winds will be consistent and from the correct direction to make sailing always possible.
Minimum Guest Numbers
Where we do not meet the minimum number of guests to operate a service, it may therefore be necessary to cancel a scheduled departure and to offer an alternative tour of similar or higher standard, or alternatively full refund for that tour. Where a tour of lesser standard is arranged, any difference in the ticket prices will be refunded.
Guests Check-In Before Boarding
A Web Check-in Service is available, day tour guests may use the web check-in and then go direct to the marina after web check-in.
If we are obligated to cancel your travel arrangements for any reason, the liability of will be limited to a refund of all monies paid by you.
